Tooele soccer at Delta

Tooele took a 2-0 first-half lead and never looked back during the 3-1 win over Delta on Thursday. Chelsea DeSantiago, Makayla Komer and McKenna Banks all scored for the Buffs, helping them to a 6-0-2 record.

Stansbury tennis at Tooele

The Stallions swept the Buffaloes 6-0 on Thursday.

Stansbury soccer at Waterford

The Stallions drew 2-2 with Class 1A Waterford on the road Friday. Waterford had a 2-1 advantage at halftime with goals from Katie Wood and Maddie Duke, but the Stallions responded with goals scored by Mackenzie Landward and Sammy Howa.

Stansbury soccer at Morgan

Morgan’s Regan McGreer scored a hat trick in the 6-1 win over Stansbury on Thursday. Mackenzie Landward scored the lone Stallion goal in the second half.

Grantsville volleyball vs. Copper Hills

The Cowboys fell 3-1 to Copper Hills on Thursday with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Tooele volleyball at Payson

The Buffs earned a win over Payson on the road Thursday with a score of 3-2.

Park City

The Cowboys lost 5-1 to Park City on Thursday with the lone win coming at second doubles. Park City’s Livi Rockwood defeated Grantsville’s Bailie Sandberg 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, and Taylor Matz defeated Brooklyn Butler by the same score in third singles. Grantsville’s Alayna Brown managed to win a point against Gabby Rockwood in the 6-0, 6-1 defeat in second singles. The Grantsville first doubles team of Carli Christensen and Kayla Johnson were defeated by Brookly Thompson and Juliana Signor 6-3, 1-6, 6-1. Grantsville’s Marissa Linares and Maci Jackson defeated Caileigh Lydon and Marissa Zanetti 7-6 (7-0), 6-2 in second doubles. Lexi Colson and Paige Petersen were defeated 6-3, 6-1 in third doubles.

Utah Motorsports Campus

The next major event scheduled for at the Utah Motorsports Campus is the West Doubleheader of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series on Sept. 10-11. The seventh round of NASA Utah racing will also be held Sept. 10-11.

Corey Melville Men’s Softball Tournament

This tournament, sponsored by the West Wendover Recreation District, will be Sept. 10-11, 2016, in West Wendover, Nevada. Cost is $250 per team with a two-game guarantee. For more information or to register, call (775) 664-3289.

Peach Days Softball Tourney

Brigham City Recreation is currently taking teams for the annual Men’s Peach Days Softball Tournament. The tournament is slated to run Sept. 9-10 with a three-game guarantee. The cost for the tournament is $225 per team. Teams can register online at, in person at Brigham City Recreation at 641 E. 200 North, or by calling our office at 435-734-6610. There is a $50 minimum to hold your spot. This tournament is filling quickly, so get your team together and come out and play ball.

Tooele Wall of Fame

Tooele High School is accepting applications for the Annual Athletic Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony, to be held Friday, Sept. 30. Applicants must have graduated from THS at least 10 years ago. Email Athletic Director Catham Beer at for an application or pick one up at Tooele High School (301 W. Vine St. Tooele, UT 84074).  Application is due by 5 p.m. on Sept. 2.
