Stallions baseball excited to improve upon 2021-22 season

After seeing its relatively inexperienced team lose its regional series to the Bountiful RedHawks during the 2021-22 season, the Stansbury Stallions baseball team looks to build on the experience gained last year and make a deep run in this year’s playoffs.

“Last year I believe we competed well overall but were not able to get hot at the right time,” head coach Jason Jones said. “We lost several close ball games over the course of the season.”

Even though the team lost five seniors from last year’s team, it will be returning seven juniors who will fill the leadership roles. Jones cites a strong offseason training and great team camaraderie as reasons for his optimism and high expectations.

“These young men have great team chemistry and have spent countless hours trying to improve their skills to be prepared for the season,” Jones said. “I am lucky to be a part of this program and could not ask for a better group of young men to coach.”

Stansbury kicks off the season at home on Saturday, when it hosts the Mountain Crest Mustangs.
