Stallions go 7-2 at Iron Man Duals as Gustafson, Herrera post perfect marks

The Stansbury wrestling team had a strong weekend at the Millard Iron Man Duals in Fillmore, winning seven of nine Duals against a variety of teams.

The Stallions beat Canyon View (41-27), Cedar (49-24), Duchesne (42-28), North Sanpete (69-6), Pleasant Grove (66-6), South Sevier (52-18) and Murray (59-6), losing only to Maple Mountain (48-17) and Millard (42-23).

Defending state champion Logan Gustafson went 9-0 during the tournament at 152 pounds, with five of his wins coming by pin. Anthony Herrera was 9-0 at 138 pounds with four pins and two major decisions, and Dawson Stewart went 8-1 at 160 pounds with two pins and one major decision.

Dylian Moore was 7-2 at 120 pounds with six pins. Jake Otero was 7-2 with three pins and a major decision at 106; Brayden Phillips was 7-2 at 113 with two pins and Danny Khoundet was 7-2 at 126 with three pins. Jamon Davis went 6-3 at 182 with two pins, a tech fall and a major decision, and Jacob Medsker was 6-3 with three pins at 170.

Austin Woodhouse was the other Stallion with a winning record for the weekend, going 5-4 with three pins at 145 pounds.

Stansbury will play host to the Stallion Stampede this weekend.
