The Stansbury girls golf team wrapped up its 2019 season with a 10th-place finish at the Class 4A state tournament Thursday at East Bay Golf Course in Provo, recording a two-day score of 783.
Madi Buckner was Stansbury’s top player, shooting a 95 on Wednesday and an 88 on Thursday for a two-day total of 183 and a 22nd-place individual finish. Michal Broadhead (96-99) and Megan Paskvan (95-100) finished tied for 36th at 195, and Shaelyn Riley was tied for 49th at 210 after shooting back-to-back 105s. Alexis Autry shot 214 (109-105) and finished 55th, and Rylee Henseler tied for 66th with a 258 (131-127).
The Stallions finished with a score of 391 on Wednesday and shot 392 on Thursday. Ridgeline won the state championship with a team score of 662, followed by Region 11 champion Park City (675), Desert Hills (683), Uintah (703), Dixie (708), Lehi (716), Bear River (744), Cedar (763), Bonneville (768), Stansbury and Juan Diego (804).
Lehi’s Lila Galea’i won individual medalist honors with a two-day score of 138 (70-68). Ridgeline’s Alexis Wilson finished nine strokes back in second place, followed by Park City’s Grace Donahue in third at 150. Dixie’s Annabelle Millard (152) and Pine View’s Bailia Milne (156) rounded out the top-five finishers. Uintah’s Maicee Smuin was sixth at 158, with Desert Hills’ Abby Leitze seventh at 161 and Ridgeline’s Mak Tenhoeve eighth at 162. Park City’s McKenzie Schow, Uintah’s Meghan Pierce and Bear River’s Rheagen Hartfiel tied for ninth at 163.
Tooele’s Emily Medina competed in the tournament as an individual, but missed the cut after playing Wednesday’s first round.
