The Stansbury girls golf team won Saturday’s Region 10 match at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, edging Uintah by three strokes.
Shaelyn Riley and Alexis Autry tied for second place overall with nine-hole scores of 50 to lead the Stallions. Michal Broadhead shot 53 and tied for sixth, and Ryelee Henseler rounded out Stansbury’s team score of 211 with a 58. Anna Jones (65) and Ally Craig (75) also played for the Stallions.
Tooele tied Ben Lomond for fourth with a total of 256. Aysha Lewis was Tooele’s low scorer with a 58, with Shelby Smart shooting a 63. Halle Smart (67) and Addison Gowans (68) also contributed to the Buffaloes’ team total. Shalie Smith (70) and Mallory Hinton (79) were Tooele’s other players.
Uintah’s Maicee Smuin shot 42 over nine holes to win individual medalist honors. The Utes were second overall as a team with a score of 214. Juan Diego was third at 227, followed by Tooele and Ben Lomond in a tie for fourth and Ogden in sixth with a total of 262. Cedar Valley didn’t have enough players for a team score.
