The Stansbury girls basketball team has played both its games this season against larger schools, but the Stallions haven’t been intimidated in the slightest.
On Thursday night in Millcreek, Stansbury cruised past Class 5A Olympus 53-37, limiting the Titans to just 11 points in the first half and 20 points through the first three quarters.
Sienna Riggle led the Stallions (2-0) with 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds, just missing a double-double. Kenzi Knudsen and Taylor Hinds each had nine points for Stansbury, which shot 44 percent (21-for-48) from the field, compared to a 22-percent (11-for-50) mark for the Titans (0-3).
Stansbury played host to Bear River on Tuesday night in a game that was not complete at press time. The Stallions will also travel to Grantsville on Thursday night for a non-region game against their cross-county rival.
