Tooele’s southern neighbor showed its small-town pride with its annual Stockton Days celebration that was ramped up more than a few notches with a nod to Stockton’s150th anniversary. Friends, neighbors and past residents have been celebrating Stockton’s longevity and history all year. Sesquicentennial planners recognized the influence on early Stockton history and held two events centered on the influence each brought to the town. Saturday’s Stockton Days marked the final feather in the Sesquicentennial hat. It was a dawn to dusk celebration after the flag-raising ceremony by the Stockton Fire Department, with non-stop activities planned throughout the day. Breakfast, a hometown parade and a festival held at the Stockton Ballpark complete with a Dutch-oven cook off, social and plenty of reminiscing rounded out a historic day.
