The ‘end is in sight’ with next Tuesday’s election

The end is in sight. Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 24.

If you haven’t made your decision as to whom gets your vote, please go to the Tooele County Clerk’s website at www.co.tooele.ut.us/clerk/Elections.htm and click on the candidate bios half way down the page.

You can also see a copy of the primary ballot, early voting times and locations, election day polling locations, maps, etc. Information is also available on the state website at  vote.utah.gov.

This is the last chance you will have to vote early if you will be out of town. Early voting is available at the County Building Monday, June 16 through Thursday, June 19 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be early voting at the Tooele County Building, Grantsville Fire Station and Stansbury High School on Friday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also, on Wednesday, June 18, you may come and early vote at the Tooele Senior Center from 9 a.m. to noon. While you’re there come and have one of the best breakfasts in town.

If you vote by-mail, please make sure your ballot is postmarked back to the county by Monday, June 23. If you would prefer to early vote at one of the above mentioned locations, you will be required to surrender the ballot you received in the mail. If you normally vote by mail and have not received your ballot, and you meet all of the qualifications (affiliated with the Republican Party) please call me at 435-843-3148. Voters registered as unaffiliated can still affiliate with the Republican Party at the polling location, whether that be on election day or early voting.

Just a reminder that Tooele County Business License renewals are due June 30. Beginning July 1, the fee doubles, and who wants to pay late fees?

Payment options include on-line at https://businesslicense.tooelecountyonline.org, over the phone at 435-843-3141, through the mail, or, as usual, we’d love to see you in person. Business licenses cannot be prorated, so if you purchased your new license before June 1, you will be required to pay the full fee again. All Tooele County business licenses are due June 30 of each year.

If you have any questions, please call me at 435-843-3148 or email me at mgillette@co.tooele.ut.us.

Thanks for Voting!

Marilyn K. Gillette is the Tooele County Clerk
