The play “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr.” will be performed by the Tooele Jr. High School drama department March 7 and 8 and again on March 13, 14 and 15 beginning at 7 p.m. There will also be a special matinee on Saturday, March 15 at 1 p.m. All shows will be held in the school’s AV room.
According to drama director Julia Smoot, the show is a great ensemble piece. It has all the music people love from the Disney movie, but it is jazzed up a bit more. There are also some new songs, including the beloved “Zipideedoda” done in disco style.
The cat is played by three student actors. They include AJ Hofeling, Preston Berry and Jordan Alverson. There are three Alices in two different casts. In cast A, Alice is played by Allindia Hamilton and Neeva Wimmer, and cast B includes Natalie Stewart, Lilly Gebs and Anne Marie Sheets.
The TJHS Glee will be performing the preshow and during intermission.
The show is great for families and the kids should love it. The cast has a competition to see who can bring the most people to the show. Anyone who knows a cast member can purchase a ticket from them to help them win the grand prize. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students and children. A family pass can be purchased for $17.
