The Tooele City Planning Commission completed their general plan update draft that they have been working on for more than nine months.
The city is now looking for feedback.
The planning commission completed the draft in a joint meeting with the City Council on Aug 12.
“We made a few revisions as a result of that discussion and are now into the public review stage for the General Plan,” stated Jim Bolser, city community development director.
Printed copies of the draft are available for viewing at Tooele City Hall with comment cards for anyone who would like to provide feedback.
The draft is available for viewing or downloading at www.tooelecity.org
Members of the community can submit comments through the website, according to Bolser.
They can also submit comments through a designated email address, email@example.com.
“The public comment window will remain open until the time that the City Council ultimately adopts the plan,” Bolser said.
On September 17 and October 6, there will be two public open houses at city hall from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. regarding the draft.
“After the public hearings, we are anticipating the planning commission holding two formal public hearings to receive public comment and feedback, anticipated for late October and early November, following which the Council is also anticipated to hold two public hearings of their own before adoption,” Bolser said.
The Transcript Bulletin will update the public as soon as more information about the general plan becomes available.
