Scott Broadhead was sworn in as the new Tooele County Attorney at the Tooele County Commission meeting on Dec. 2. He will serve until the end of 2014 and will be sworn in with the newly elected officials at the Oath of Office Ceremony on Monday, Jan. 5 at noon.
Broadhead will serve for two years until the next general election in 2016 when the position will be up for election for a two-year term. We wish the best for former Tooele County Attorney Doug Hogan as he moves on to his role as a 3rd District Court judge — and he thought Tooele County was a lot to handle.
The final financial forms for the 2014 General Election candidates can be found on the Tooele County Clerk’s website at www.co.tooele.ut.us/clerk/financialdisclosure.htm. The financial forms show who donated to the campaigns and all of the expenses. You may be surprised how much a campaign can cost.
The county is creating a new county committee called Deseret Peak/Parks and Recreation Marketing Committee. This committee will consist of five members. No specific requirements (other than living in the county) or specializations are required.
The meeting times for this board have not yet been established. If you are interested in serving on the committee, please follow the following link to see the board openings and to download an application: www.co.tooele.ut.us/boards-committees.htm. Applications will be taken until Jan. 15, 2015.
The Lake Point Incorporation Feasibility Study has been amended back to the original boundary. The Stansbury Park Incorporation Feasibility Study was presented at the Tooele Commission meeting on Dec. 16. For a copy of the studies and presentations, please go to the Tooele County website main page at www.co.tooele.ut.us.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
