The 2019 high school baseball season saw all three Tooele Valley squads reach the postseason, showing the talent the area has on the diamond.
Tooele made an impressive run in the Class 4A state tournament after finishing third in Region 11. The Buffaloes beat Region 12 champion Mountain Crest and Region 11 champ Juan Diego to enable them to play on the big stage at Lindquist Field, home of the minor-league Ogden Raptors. The Buffs fell to eventual state runner-up Dixie, but showed that they are a program on the rise.
Grantsville won its second consecutive Region 13 championship and rolled to victory in the opening round of the Class 3A state tournament. The Cowboys were eliminated from championship contention with back-to-back losses to Union and Judge Memorial, but continued to be one of Class 3A’s premier programs one year after winning a state title.
Stansbury returned to the Class 4A state tournament after missing out the year before, finishing fourth in Region 11. The Stallions very nearly made it to the second week of the tournament, suffering a heartbreaking one-run loss to Bear River in the one-loss bracket. The future is bright for the Stallions, with several underclassmen set to return in key roles in 2020.
