Friday, May 6 is the opening of the Tooele County Daughters of Utah Pioneers museum, located on West Vine Street in Tooele. Hours are from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The museum will be open every Friday and Saturday, including holidays, for the rest of the summer. Come see the original cabin built in 1863, schoolhouse and blacksmith shop as well. All are filled with artifacts from the 1800s. This is an ideal field trip for your Scouts, young women or other groups. Docents will be available for complete tours of the entire museum and pioneer plaza. Many new exhibits are being planned for the summer.
