Tooele High School will honor 1996 graduate Scott White as the newest inductee into the school’s Wall of Fame as part of the festivities surrounding Friday’s homecoming football game.
According to a press release from THS athletic director Catham Beer, White was a member of the football team for one year, the basketball team for three years and the baseball team for four years, earning one varsity letter in basketball and three in baseball, and he was a captain on the 1996 baseball team that won the state championship.
As a member of the baseball team, he was named to the All-Region team three times, was an All-State Honorable Mention, and a member of the Class 4A All-State baseball team. After high school, White went on to play baseball at Lassen College (Calif.) and San Francisco State University.
Currently, White is in sales, but thoroughly enjoyed his 12 years of helping at-risk youth at Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek, Ariz. While working at Canyon State Academy, he coached the baseball team for nine years.
White is the son of Bill and Dolores White. He is grateful to his siblings Monica, Ron, and John. He is also the proud father of Nolan and Aislyn.
“Too many individuals to thank, but they know who they are,” White said in the press release. “So, I would like to thank ALL my coaches and teammates for the life lessons, lessons on the field and court, and for the memories that I will hold dear forever. The families of said coaches and teammates for all the support that was given to us whether we won or lost. It was amazing how we, in a sense, were one big family.
“To my family, thank you for being my biggest fans. I’m proud of who I am, and every single person mentioned has played a major part in getting me where I am today. Last but not least, I would like to thank my two children for pushing me to the best father and person that I can be. I love you with all I got!”
