A Tooele man was arrested after allegedly throwing a beer glass at another man Friday.
According to a probable cause statement, Marcus Smith, 31, was arguing with another man at the Corner Pocket. The men took the argument outside of the establishment, according to the statement, and as it got heated, Smith allegedly threw a beer glass at the other man.
Afterward, Smith ran away from the scene, according to the statement, and told police he did so because he feared for his life.
When police responded to the area, the other man was being treated for “severe” cuts to his left arm and neck, according to the statement. Smith approached officers and told them he was the one they were looking for in connection with the incident, according to the probable cause statement.
After interviewing Smith, officers arrested him and booked him into the Tooele County Detention Center. He was charged Monday with aggravated assault, a third-degree felony. He is scheduled to make his first appearance in 3rd District Court Tuesday.
