The UT 365 Tooele chapter of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) held their awards ceremony on April 23, 2016. Lynne Nash was given a welcome gift and was awarded a New Member Achievement certificate for losing 14.8 pounds in her first two months. All members of the group recorded a loss for 2015, and everyone was given a ribbon and a certificate to recognize that achievement. Michelle Richardson was given a Life Saver award for her role as co-leader and the assistance she has given to leader Lisa Hardy. Michelle was also given a prize for maintaining the most consistent weight, or “turtles” as they are referred to in TOPS. Delilah Steck was given a certificate for recording the most exercise hours in 2015. She was also given a soccer sign to recognize her participation in and passion for soccer. Pamela Steck was the division winner for the chapter with a loss of more than 25 pounds. She was awarded a certificate from the TOPS headquarters as well as a certificate and roses from the chapter. She was also recognized as being the first division winner in this fairly new chapter. TOPS is a nonprofit weight loss organization providing support and accountability. There are currently two TOPS groups serving the Tooele area. For more information, see the Bulletin Board section of this paper or visit www.tops.org.
