Tavin Stucki is the new community news editor for the Tooele Transcript-Bulletin. He took over the position from Richard Briggs, who left the Transcript on April 17 to take a job with a news organization in St. George.
Beside editing and proofing duties, Stucki will also write sports and outdoor recreation stories for the sports section.
Born in Pocatello, Idaho, and raised in Midvale, Utah, Stucki graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Utah State University last week, where he also minored in multimedia design. While at USU, he worked for four years at the college’s newspaper, The Utah Statesman, as a reporter, sports editor and news editor. During his senior year, he was editor-in-chief.
Stucki is a 2007 graduate from Hillcrest High School in Sandy, Utah. From 2008 to 2010 he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Scotland.
As community news editor, Stucki writes, edits and manages editorial and photographic content for the Transcript-Bulletin’s inside pages and sections, including Hometown and Bulletin Board.
