Now that the Tooele County conventions are over, it’s time to look forward to the Primary Election that will be held on June 24, 2014.
Only voters registered as Republicans or those who affiliate with the Republican Party will be able to vote. If you are registered as unaffiliated, or are registered with a party the state doesn’t recognize this year (anything other than Constitution, Democratic, Libertarian, Republican or Independent American), you are considered unaffiliated.
If you are not registered as a Republican and would like to vote in the Primary Election, you may: 1. Anyone registered with any party or registered as unaffiliated, may fill out an affiliation form and get it to my office by Tuesday, May 27 at 6 p.m. 2. Those registered as unaffiliated or considered unaffiliated (see paragraph above) may register on election day at the polls.
Republican affiliation forms may be obtained by downloading a form from the clerk’s website at www.co.tooele.ut.us/clerk/pdf/forms/rep_aff_frm.pdf, call the clerk’s office at 435-843-3148 and I’ll mail one to you, or stop by and fill one out. Please remember the deadline is May 27.
Offices on the Republican Primary Election Ballot: For the Office of Commissioner Seat A: Dean Johnson and Wade B. Bitner. For the office of Treasurer: Jeremy A. Walker and Michael J. Jensen.
Voter registration dates for the Primary Election: May 27 is the voter registration by mail deadline. Those registered by this day will be able to Early Vote. Until June 9 voters may register in person in the clerk’s office or on line at “vote.utah.gov” and will be able to Early Vote.
Until June 16 voters may register in person in the clerk’s office or on line, but will be unable to Early Vote. June 17 voters may register only on line and will not be able to Early Vote. Confusing isn’t it!
If you have any questions, please contact me at 435-843-3148 or send email to email@example.com
